Mark Anthony and Vernelle Swain

Fri Apr 21, 2006   |   View Archives

Mark Anthony and Vernelle Swain moved to Memphis in 2000 with a vision for a multicultural congregation that brings together all the different races of that city. Mark chose Memphis because the people seemed unreachable, and he saw a need for sound Biblical teaching. A native Bahaman, Mark earned his M. Div. from Covenant Theological Seminary and now is a church planter with 20 years of experience in ministry. Grace Community Church, near Memphis, began Bible studies last May and celebrated its growth into a viable church on April 10, 2004. The Swains have two sons, Mark Anthony Jr. and David Jeremiah. Pray for racial reconciliation in Memphis through the Gospel, and that God would bless the church financially as they move forward by His grace.
