Capital Fellows

Mission/What to Expect

The Capital Fellows is a Christian Leadership program for recent college graduates. The program helps Fellows discern their calling in life and trains them to be wholly-devoted followers of Christ in both the church and the world.

Life changes after you leave school. Everyone knows that, but almost no one prepares you for it. How do you adjust to a workplace environment? How do you keep God as the focus of your life? How do you start the rest of your life? The Fellows experience will help you understand how to live an authentic life with God at the center of all you do – spiritual, family, career, and personal. It’s not only a bridge from college to employment, but it’s a year well spent.

The Capital Fellows program is a comprehensive Christian Leadership and discipleship program for a small group of Fellows, combining:

• A three-day-per-week internship in a workplace environment within a business, government, or non-profit organization
• One-on-one mentoring by a Christian (of the same gender) who is experienced in the marketplace and in ministry
• Graduate level academic work on apologetics (the intellectual defense of the Christian faith) and cultural interaction through Reformed Theological Seminary
• Retreats and conferences
• Training in discipleship, evangelism, and prayer
• Ministry within McLean Presbyterian Church, especially in youth and children’s ministries
• Service to the community
• Living with a host family from the church and being involved in Christian family life
