Women’s Ministry

Mission/What to Expect

Over the years, MPC has had several different approaches to involving women in the ministries and life of the church. Five years ago, a strategy committee was formed to re-evaluate the formal role of women’s ministry – ministry to women, and ministry of women to the Body of Christ and the world. A lay leadership ‘Board of Women’ was created and their mission is this – to encourage and support women in their pursuit of a deeper relationship with God so that they will be better equipped for life and ministry alongside their brothers and to strengthen and extend the Kingdom as expressed in the vision and mission of McLean Presbyterian Church .

Contact Info

All women are welcome to be a part of the women’s ministry at MPC. For more information, please contact Leslie Whelchel, Chair of the Board of Women.

How to Join

If you are a woman, and a member or regular attender, you are already part of the women’s ministry at MPC! You can register for each event individually, as your schedule permits.

Our leadership is nominated by members of the congregation. Our next ‘class’ of the Board of Women will be nominated in the spring of 2010.

2010 Women’s Retreat
Are you stuck in the mud when it comes to your devotional life?  Do you yearn for experiencing God’s presence more in your everyday life?  Join us on the women’s weekend, Feb. 19-21, 2010 for a retreat exploring spirituality with our own Chris Purcell guiding our studies.  We’ll get away to Fredericksburg, VA to enjoy fellowship with other women, rich time in God’s word, and come home revitalized and refreshed!  To register online, click here. Questions? Email Brooke Swayze. Click here to see/download the brochure.

Glimpses of Grace

We gather for breakfast on Saturday mornings to provide you with the opportunity for intimate fellowship with other women as you come away from the normal routine of life.  Each meeting will feature a local godly woman who will share of God’s grace working in her life. You will come away inspired and encouraged! Stay tuned for the announcement of our dates for the 2009/2010 ministry year!

Bible Study Information

There is no more significant way to grow in grace than to study God’s Word in a small group context. Our hope is for you to grow and change in your daily life through our time together. We invite you to join us as we study God’s concern for His people and His hope for them and for us. Throughout the year we will have times of review and rejoicing. If you can’t commit to the whole year, you can come for part of the study and still fully participate. Childcare is provided.

Our Tuesday morning Bible study runs from September through May of each ministry year. For further information, contact Deb Perry or Chris Sherril (through the church office).
