These special events are activities that happen once a year and/or are of short duration. They are all planned and overseen by Kingdom Kids, our children’s ministry.

Vacation Bible School

Performing Art Camp
What an amazing week we had at Vacation Bible School (VBS) this past summer! Power Lab was a huge success with over 225 children here for the week of July 7-11 2008. Children heard Bible stories, learned Bible verses, and participated in many games and crafts. For our missions offering, we sent 25 soccer balls to Latin America.
This ministry year VBS will be held July 6-10, 2009. Our theme will be Crocodile Dock: Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light. VBS is open to children 4 years old to 3rd grade and is held Monday-Friday 9:30am-12:30pm. Children participate in fun activities involving crafts, games, songs, and Bible lessons. Putting Belief Into Action to Serve the Community
This summer during the week of June 22-26, we will be running a camp for our community involving the rising 4, 5, & 6th graders, otherwise known as the D3 ministry. This camp will involve their serving the community with various service projects. This concept first came alive three summers ago when the Awesome 654’s served as the VBS Service Brigade 2005, which ran concurrent with our VBS ministry.
We will again be using the book “WWJD: Kids at work in the real world” written by Donna Thurston which presents how to give kids an opportunity to serve their community and learn about Jesus. The camp, which will run from 9:30am-3pm every day during the week of June 22-26, will help teach the D3 how they can not only make a difference during this exciting week of camp, but also everyday of their lives as they obey Christ’s command to “Love Your Neighbor.”

For the 5th year in a row, Kidshine joined us for a week-long performing arts camp. Almost 60 kids took part in singing, dancing, scenery production, acting, and fellowship. The week ended with the production “Kingdom Tales” with the kids showing family and friends all their hard work and talent!
This year’s camp will be held August 3-7, 2009. Performing Arts Camp runs from 9-3pm Monday-Friday, with a final performance on Friday evening. Camp is open to children that are rising 3rd grade through rising 6th grade. Registration will open on February 1.
