Missions and Outreach

Having experienced the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ ourselves, it is only natural that we should want the world around us to share in this love and forgiveness as much as we have.

At McLean Presbyterian Church, we communicate this love and forgiveness through the transforming presence of Jesus Christ in four different ways:

  • Relational Evangelism. The Woman at the Well demonstrated relational evangelism when she told the people of her town, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” (John 4:29)
  • Mercy Ministry. Jesus himself emphasized the importance of mercy ministry in a parable in which he said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
  • Church Planting. The book of Acts relates how Paul planted churches from Jerusalem to Rome.
  • Cross-cultural Missions. The very last words of Jesus upon the earth imparted this mandate: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8b)

The information that follows in this section is intended to share how we communicate the transforming presence of Jesus Christ through our missions work. Here you will find opportunities to learn, to grow, to pray, and to support our efforts to show the world what Jesus Christ has done for us.
