McLean Presbyterian Church supports in prayer and with finances approximately sixty individuals and ministry organizations. On this page you will find access to information about each of them, from a ministry highlight of one missionary, to a brief overview of updates from several missions partners, to a downloadable directory that contains information on all of our missions partners.
Each week throughout the year, one of our missionaries is the center of focus for prayer as the “Missionary of the Week.” We encourage you to get to know this missionary better by reading the information below and join us in praying for our missionaries, their families, and their mission field.
Once per month a volunteer compiles notes from our missions partners’ recent correspondence to give us an overview of their ministry. These are mostly prayer points to help us connect with our partners in a relevant and dynamic way. Please review these “Notes from the Field” to keep current with our missions partners and lift them in prayer.
Our “Prayer Diary” is a complete list of our official missions partners. It includes a brief overview of each partner, contact information, a photo, and general prayer requests for each ministry. The diary is divided into 31 ‘days’ so that it can function as a prayer guide for individuals or families who would like to pray through it on a regular basis. The file can be downloaded or viewed online and hard copies of the guide are available at our Information Center in the Tower Entrance. The Prayer Diary is updated annually.

Brad and Margarita Wallace serve churches in Chile through evangelism, construction work and discipleship. Brad came to know the Lord at MPC and has been a member here since 1989. He works with short-term mission teams from the U.S. to build facilities for churches, pastors’ homes, and buildings for Christian organizations around the country. Brad and Margarita supervise the short-term missions teams on construction projects and evangelistic outreach ministries. Outreach ministries include Vacation Bible School and other children’s ministry programs, a neighborhood Bible study in the Wallace home, regular preaching in various churches, and annual Family-Life conferences. Brad, Margarita, and their two youngest children, Keila and Michael, returned to Chile in early February 2010 after a Home Ministry Assignment in the States. Their oldest son, Joshua, remained behind with friends in Virginia to finish seventh grade. Please pray for him and the family during this difficult separation. Pray also for this new phase of ministry in Chile. The Wallaces will serve as Team Leaders for the new World Harvest Mission team in Chile, which includes two families arriving this year. Pray that God will provide the remaining finances needed for their budget so that an early return to the U.S. will not be required. Pray especially for the Wallace family’s spiritual and emotional protection. Watch for information and pray about joining the short term mission trip planned for early 2011. Keep in touch with the family via email or contact Vanessa in the missions office for their phone number.
Wilma Cross is based in Santiago, which is 200 miles from the earthquake’s epicenter. She is currently on furlough in the USA, but has made email contact with her assistant, Magaly, who was prepared with a supply of food and water for this type of emergency.
Brad & Margarita Wallace (and their children Keila and Michael) have sent out an email to let us know they’re okay. The epicenter of the quake was 300 miles south of them, but still registered as a 7.5 there in Quillota. They have just returned to Chile after a Home Ministry Assignment in the USA. Their son Joshua is staying in the DC area while he finishes 7th grade. Please pray for the whole family.
Dave & Esther Miller (and their son Ben) just arrived in Quillota in mid-February to begin ministry with the Wallace family. They are with the Wallace family and are safe.
Please pray for these MPC missionaries and for others in Chile. Roads and bridges are out, so travel is difficult. Running water, electricity, and communication lines are damaged in many locations. Stores and homes are being looted. Pray also for those with relatives in areas affected by the recent earthquakes, including MPC Missionaries Richard & Angelica Ramsay.
Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE) has an active board which works tirelessly to plan fundraising events, ministry trips, and other activities to support the ministry. Our congregation continues to have a special relationship with RCE, and the volunteer team at MPC is currently in need of some active support. Pray for MPC members to step up and get involved. Pray for energy and renewal for those who are already serving in this mercy ministry.
