McLean Presbyterian Church supports in prayer and with finances approximately sixty individuals and ministry organizations. On this page you will find access to information about each of them, from a ministry highlight of one missionary, to a brief overview of updates from several missions partners, to a downloadable directory that contains information on all of our missions partners.
Each week throughout the year, one of our missionaries is the center of focus for prayer as the “Missionary of the Week.” We encourage you to get to know this missionary better by reading the information below and join us in praying for our missionaries, their families, and their mission field.
Once per month a volunteer compiles notes from our missions partners’ recent correspondence to give us an overview of their ministry. These are mostly prayer points to help us connect with our partners in a relevant and dynamic way. Please review these “Notes from the Field” to keep current with our missions partners and lift them in prayer.
Our “Prayer Diary” is a complete list of our official missions partners. It includes a brief overview of each partner, contact information, a photo, and general prayer requests for each ministry. The diary is divided into 31 ‘days’ so that it can function as a prayer guide for individuals or families who would like to pray through it on a regular basis. The file can be downloaded or viewed online and hard copies of the guide are available at our Information Center in the Tower Entrance. The Prayer Diary is updated annually.

The D3 Mission Team will be in Fairmont, WV this year for their third annual week-long service project. D3 is a discipleship group made up of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders which meets regularly during the ministry year, giving them a chance to dive more deeply into God’s Word. During the summer the rising 6th and 7th graders who are serious about applying their faith through action have the chance to participate in a missions trip specifically planned and designed for them. The 2009 team to York, PA served and ministered at Summit Grove Day Camp just south of York. Summit Grove reaches out to children and families in the surrounding community to build community awareness while simultaneously sharing the Gospel with the kids. The 2010 team will head to Fairmont, WV from July 24-31 to serve and minister to the local community through various service projects, including painting, landscaping and minor construction. Please pray that God will sustain the D3 team and give them an attitude and spirit of joy and excitement for him and his kingdom as they serve in WV this summer!
Wilma Cross is based in Santiago, which is 200 miles from the earthquake’s epicenter. She is currently on furlough in the USA, but has made email contact with her assistant, Magaly, who was prepared with a supply of food and water for this type of emergency.
Brad & Margarita Wallace (and their children Keila and Michael) have sent out an email to let us know they’re okay. The epicenter of the quake was 300 miles south of them, but still registered as a 7.5 there in Quillota. They have just returned to Chile after a Home Ministry Assignment in the USA. Their son Joshua is staying in the DC area while he finishes 7th grade. Please pray for the whole family.
Dave & Esther Miller (and their son Ben) just arrived in Quillota in mid-February to begin ministry with the Wallace family. They are with the Wallace family and are safe.
Please pray for these MPC missionaries and for others in Chile. Roads and bridges are out, so travel is difficult. Running water, electricity, and communication lines are damaged in many locations. Stores and homes are being looted. Pray also for those with relatives in areas affected by the recent earthquakes, including MPC Missionaries Richard & Angelica Ramsay.
Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE) has an active board which works tirelessly to plan fundraising events, ministry trips, and other activities to support the ministry. Our congregation continues to have a special relationship with RCE, and the volunteer team at MPC is currently in need of some active support. Pray for MPC members to step up and get involved. Pray for energy and renewal for those who are already serving in this mercy ministry.
