Short Term Missions

Short-term Mission Trips are ministry opportunities for members and regular attenders to work with our supported field missionary partners. Those who worship at MPC are encouraged to talk with trip leaders and seek the Lord’s guidance for personal involvement in one or more short term mission trips. FAQs

Do I have to be a member of MPC to go on a missions trip?
No, but your participation needs to be approved by the trip leader and an MPC pastor.

Do I have to raise my own financial support?
Yes. It’s a great opportunity to see God work! You will have some assistance from the team leader who will offer training in support-raising. The missions committee may also choose to assist in certain circumstances, or provide seed money to get support-raising started. Don’t let finances keep you from going!

What do I do if I’m interested in a trip but not ready to commit yet?
Join the club! Most of the beginning trip meetings are called ‘interest meetings’ for exactly this reason. The best thing you can do is follow those little nudges of interest and find out as much as you can as early as you can.

Are these the only trips going out of MPC?
Not necessarily. Some of our missionaries hold prayer conferences that are available every year and often one or two MPC members participate in these. We may also have a trip going to a sensitive area that can’t be posted on our website. If you’re interested in going on a trip and don’t see a destination of interest, feel free to contact the Missions Coordinator. Don’t forget to pray about whether God might be asking you to be a Trip Coordinator!
