Summer Choir
Singers are welcome to come Sunday mornings in July to sing in the choir. Arrive at 8:45am to learn the anthem and sing in the services for that day, no weekly rehearsals, no robes are worn. Experience the rich blessings of leading God's people in worship and let's fill the loft. Come once or all five Sundays, whenever you are able.

Call for Nominations for the Board of Women
Nominations are now being accepted for MPC's Board of Women. The Board was established by the Session in 2005 and functions to encourage women to live out Titus 2:3-5, to serve as a committee to address women’s concerns and to complement the ordained leadership of the church by serving as liaisons to the church leadership committees. This MPC leadership board's objectives are two-fold: serving women and engaging women in service. Nominees must be MPC members for at least one year. Training begins in the fall, with examination and confirmation by the Session in early 2012; Board members serve for up to two 3-year consecutive terms. You are encouraged to submit nominations using forms available in the Tower Entrance - the nominations period closes on July 10. Please contact Rebecca Cotton if you have any questions about the Board of Women.

MOPS
MOPS--Better Moms Make a Better World--Now enrolling for the 2011-2012 year. Are you a Mom who needs to relax, rejuvenate, and connect with other women? Come join us for another exciting season where we discuss parenting, marriage and family issues. Please register by July 22 to allow for childcare planning and group assignments.
What is MOPS? MOPS is a program for Mothers of Preschoolers (ages birth through Kindergarten) where teaching is based on Christian principles. Teaching topics will include womanhood, parenting, marriage and family life. The teaching topics encourage discussions in Care Groups where friendships begin to develop. This is followed by a time in which creative skills are enhanced through crafts.
What is MOPPETS? While the mother is participating in a morning planned just for her, her enrolled children are included in a separate program, MOPPETS, just for them. All children enjoy playtime with nurturing caregivers. For older children, the program also includes stories, crafts and songs.
When do we meet? We will have two groups meeting on alternate Thursday mornings from 9:30am - 11:30am for a total of 16 meetings. Meetings begin in late September and run through late May. Confirmation of your registration will be sent in August. Specific meeting dates will then be mailed to you in September.
Where do we meet? We meet at McLean Presbyterian Church, 1020 Balls Hill Road, McLean VA 22101.
How do I Register? Visit the MOPS page on our website to download the registration form. Mail registration form with your check made payable to MOPS/MPC to McLean Presbyterian Church. For additional information, please contact Michelle Thompson or call her at (703)204-4432.
Career Women of MPC
Crosstrainers, a ministry to working women worshipping at MPC, begins its seventh year this fall. The discipleship of our hearts and minds is crucial to equipping and encouraging career women to be salt and light in their vocations. So, if you’re looking for a small group with which to share a substantive time of studying and growing deeper in your relationship with Christ, Crosstrainers just might be for you.
We meet one Saturday a month as a group for a time of teaching, discussion of a book, prayer and fellowship. Then, each participant is also matched with a mentor and they meet one on one at least once a month.
You’re invited to pray and consider joining us. In order for you to make an informed and careful decision, here is some helpful information for the upcoming year—September 2011 through May 2012:
• One book per month required reading
• Commitment to meet—
o September 10th for our first meeting
o October 7-9—mandatory Crosstrainers retreat at Osprey Point in Maryland
o 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on the 2nd Saturday of every month from September through May
• Meet with a mentor once a month
We believe the group dynamics are well served by keeping the size to about 12 participants and several mentors. To request an application, which is used primarily to match each participant with a mentor, please email Rebecca Cotton. Application deadline is July 25, 2011.
As we trust the Lord to bring together this year's group of women, we look forward to what the Spirit will do in and through our group this next year.
Many blessings in Christ,
The Crosstrainers Leadership
