Discovering Christ Host/Hostess
- The host/hostess handle the purchase and set-up process for refreshments, greets class participants, and a few administrative details at the start of class.
- Service Hours/Frequency - 4x/year for 6 weeks each; 1 hour 15 min. (class time) plus 30 min. set-up and 10 min. clean-up after each class; Approx. 2 hours for one lunch (order food, set-up)

Driver(s)
- This position provides for the transportation needs of our senior saints who are no longer able to drive themselves to church. Drivers can provide one-way or roundtrip assistance.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Serve as desired (weekly or when available)
- Service Prerequisites - Open to anyone with an automobile, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
ESL Host(ess) Team Member
- This position helps to arrange & serves the snacks, which the students bring, for the social time of the meeting, and cleans up afterwards.
- Service Hours/Frequency - 1x/week on Wednesday from 9-11:30am or on Thursday from 7-9pm.
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Enjoys hospitality
Harvest Mentoring Couple(s)
- This position mentors singles, primarily in their 20’s, through relationship & hospitality.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Most Sunday nights 7-8:30PM
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Has a love for singles; Invite singles into your life and home
Harvest Socials Team
- Be a member of the team that plans the Harvest social calendar.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Monthly; Hours vary
- Service Prerequisites - Organizational gifts
Harvest Welcome Team
- Be a member of a team that greets newcomers to Harvest.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Weekly Sunday nights; Follow-up during the week
- Service Prerequisites - Friendly & outgoing personality
Hospitality Team
- This team decorates the church at Christmas, and plans all aspects of the Easter & Christmas Choir receptions, Congregational dinner, and other special events as necessary.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Hours vary depending on event
- Service Prerequisites - Skills in event planning, decorating, and budgeting helpful
Membership Seminar Host/Hostess
- These people work together to prepare the (partially catered) dinner for Friday night, and continental breakfast for Saturday.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Membership Seminars occur approx. 4x/year (none in summer); Dinner includes the purchase of some food, final food prep, serving and clean-up.
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Good organizational skills; Gift of hospitality
Memorial Service Reception Coordinator(s)
- This position arranges memorial service receptions for church members at the request of the pastoral staff.
- Service Hours/Frequency - As needed; Unable to plan for these sudden events; 2-3 hours prep & 2-3 hours for each reception
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Available on short notice; Sensitive to needs in a family transition; Able to organize this type of event quickly
Men’s Breakfast Coordinator(s)
- This position assembles a team of men to prepare & serve breakfast, and clean-up after the breakfast meeting.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Approx. 4 hours the first Saturday morning of each month; Approx. 1 hour/month to buy food ; Approx. 1 hour/month to assemble the team via phone
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Comfortable with preparing breakfast meals; Consistently attend ministry events
Men’s Ministry Coordinator
- This position organizes and heads the leadership team; identifies and schedules the speaker for each men’s breakfast; and creates and distributes the promotional flyers for each event.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Breakfasts occur the first Saturday of each month from 8-9:30am; Approx. 4-5 hours monthly for administrative details
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member (Elder preferred); Knowledgeable of speaker topics & speakers that are relevant to men; Good organizational skills; Consistently attend ministry events
Men’s Ministry Emcee
- This position will act as Emcee for each men’s gathering; participate as a leadership team member; assist in planning and preparation for scheduled events; and help identify speakers for events.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Breakfasts occur the first Saturday of each month from 8-9:30am; Approx. 2-3 hours monthly for administrative details
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member (Elder preferred); Knowledgeable of speaker topics & speakers that are relevant to men; Good communication skills; Consistently attend ministry events
Newcomer Ministry Assistant(s)
- This position attends the lunch/dinner and helps with final preparations, serving, and clean-up of the meal.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Serve as available, events are monthly for approx. 2 hours.
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; A friendly, helpful adult who likes to work in the kitchen.
Newcomer Ministry Cook(s)
- From a team of cooks, several offer their help for each newcomer lunch/dinner in cooking a part of the meal in their own home.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Several hours, depending on the recipe. Can sometimes prepare in advance of the meal.
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Skilled in the kitchen; Don’t have to commit to all lunches/dinners
Sanctuary Prep Coordinator(s)
- This position straightens & replenishes the pew racks (envelopes, pencils, etc.) in preparation for Sunday worship services.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Approx. 2-3 hours weekly; Done while church is open
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender
Special Events Hostess(es)
- This position works with the person responsible for a special event to help ensure they have the resources needed for their event and to ensure the policies/procedures of MPC are respected. This position does not support weddings/receptions or church-wide events.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Serve as desired, when a special event occurs; Hours will vary based on the need.
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Gifts in hospitality and organization helpful; Training will be provided
Welcome Team Greeter(s)
- This team member greets and provides assistance to guests as they enter the church for worship, or are looking for information at our Information Center.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Serve Sunday AM, every 3-4 weeks, on a rotating schedule
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; A friendly, outgoing adult who is comfortable meeting strangers
Worship Special Events Coordinator
- This position assists in organizing details of special visiting choirs or other music events. It could also include planning for receptions and securing housing for the visiting choirs.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Varies, up to 10 hours per event; Work can be done at home
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Good organizational skills a plus
Women’s Ministry Conference Committee Member(s)
- This position assists the Conference Coordinator in one or more areas of planning for the Women’s fall & spring brunches.
- Service Hours/Frequency - Varies depending on assignment; Approx. 2-3 hours on day of brunch
- Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Skills in event planning helpful but not necessary
