AccessAbility Buddy(ies)

• This position assists an individual child or youth who has special needs, according to their needs and the desires of their parent.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 1.5 hours/month; 1-2x/month during the first or second service Sunday morning
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Training will be provided

AccessAbility Chair of Deaf Ministry & Outreach

• This position schedules and coordinates interpreters; plans and implements bi-monthly deaf outreach events; and is the ministry liaison with other deaf ministries and deaf clubs/advocacy groups in the DC metro area.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 2-3 hours/month
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Must be fluent in sign language; Must have some personal relationships with deaf individuals

AccessAbility Chair of Parent Support Group

• This position plans, schedules, and organizes quarterly parent support group meetings and the annual family picnic for parent support group & buddies. Also provides ongoing support to newly identified special needs kids & their parents.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 1 hour/month
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Must be the parent of a special needs child

AccessAbility Director of AccessAbility

• This position oversees all ministry functions including Parent Support Group, Deaf Ministry & Outreach, Buddy Program, & facility accessibility. With any vacant ministry positions, Director is responsible for completing critical tasks.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 2-3 hours/week
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Adult Member; Has a heart for special needs children & adults (in and outside the church); Administrative skills helpful

AccessAbility Driver(s)

• This position assists adults whose special needs require the provision of transportation to major church functions by prearrangement.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 1.5 hours/month (once per month)
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Adult Member or Regular Attender

AccessAbility Sign Language Interpreter(s)

• This position provides sign language interpretation of worship services and other selected congregation-wide gatherings.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 1.5-3 hours/month (more during Easter & Christmas)
• Service Prerequisites - Prefer MPC Adult Member or Regular Attender; Must be fluent in sign language; Must have experience in interpreting Christian religious services

Care Team Member(s)

• This position generally provides meals for families experiencing an adoption, a birth, a short-term or long-term illness; and in certain cases arranges child care, housecleaning assistance, or transportation for errands or appointments.
• Service Hours/Frequency - No more than 2 assignments per month; Can accept or decline a request to serve
• Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender

Harvest Service Team

• Be a member of the team that plans and implements Harvest service projects in the DC metro area, including inner-city children through the STEP ministry.
• Service Hours/Frequency - Monthly; Hours vary
• Service Prerequisites - Nominated by Service Team member; Committed to meeting monthly
