AccessAbility Chair of Deaf Ministry & Outreach

  • This position schedules and coordinates interpreters; plans and implements bi-monthly deaf outreach events; and is the ministry liaison with other deaf ministries and deaf clubs/advocacy groups in the DC metro area.
  • Service Hours/Frequency - Averages 2-3 hours/month
  • Service Prerequisites - MPC Member or Regular Attender; Must be fluent in sign language; Must have some personal relationships with deaf individuals

Missionary Care Committee Members

  • Members of this committee focus on focus on either foreign or domestic ministries that MPC supports, and serves them by reading newsletters & annual reports, prayer, and giving input on policy and funding decisions.
  • Service Hours/Frequency - Two year renewable term; Generally meet 1x/month
  • Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Interest in outreach and missions; Assist with volunteer activities like annual Missions Conference and ‘Adventures in Missions’ events; Participate in annual budget planning process; Attend luncheons and specially-called meetings

Missions Conference Director

  • This position is responsible for planning & executing the annual missions conference. The Director would build a team to assist in this effort.
  • Service Hours/Frequency - Conference in March; hours vary but intensify as conference date arrives
  • Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Interest in outreach and missions; Participate in annual budget planning process; Attend luncheons and specially-called meetings

Missions Conference Co-Coordinator

  • This position serves to assist the Conference Director in planning the annual missions conference.
  • Service Hours/Frequency - Conference in March; Hours vary but intensify as conference date arrives
  • Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Interest in outreach and missions; Attend luncheons and specially called meetings

Missions Short-term Trip Organizer

  • This position coordinates administrative aspects of a short-term missions trip for all MPC participants. This may include tasks such as pre-trip training or team-building, ticket purchases, assisting with fund-raising activities and raising awareness within the congregation, ensuring that travel and logistics while on the trip are arranged, and planning de-briefing exercises for the team after their return.
  • Service Hours/Frequency - Hours vary
  • Service Prerequisites - MPC Member; Has previously taken a short-term missions trip; Good organizational skills; Participating in the trip NOT a requirement
