Adopt-a-Missionary

  • The Adopt-a-Missionary Program is designed to connect individuals or smaller community groups within our congregation in a tangible and personal way to our missionary partners. It allows MPC members and regular attenders to be engaged directly in missionary care and we pray that both MPC and our missionary partners will be mutually encouraged and blessed by the relationships fostered. Adopting a missionary is a one-year commitment. The extent and nature of the involvement with an adopted missionary will vary, but the following three activities encompass the basic expectations of this commitment:
    • Commit to pray for a specific MPC-sponsored missionary and communicate that commitment directly to our partner.
    • Sign up to receive your adopted missionary’s updates and prayer letters to enable effective prayer on your missionary’s behalf.
    • Host the Coffee Table on your missionary’s behalf one time during the year as a means of highlighting his or her ministry to the larger MPC congregation and to provide a small financial gift back to your missionary
  • Service Hours/Frequency – Hours vary; one year commitment
  • Service Prerequisites – MPC Member or Regular Attender; Willingness to pray

It also serves the broader congregation as a time to welcome newcomers and socialize as a congregation. Responsibilities to be a ‘Host Group’ include making coffee, arranging for baked goods to be offered alongside the coffee, serving and clean-up. Click here for more information.
